But this version is actually the superior version of the bowline, so do not change it! This is the maritime way of? tying the bowline since it is more sturdy! We call the other version the false bowline.

@QuebecCharlie: Totally agree with? you. I believe they call the video method a dutch bowline. Its been a while but I seen online where they tested both methods for strenght and they were virtually identical. PS if a scout uses this video method (no badge).

@guitarcrazed188: a BEND means tying 2 ends of rope together. A sheet bend is a? great camping knot for splicing 2 ropes together.

well the way you ...
well the way you tie the knot makes it? nearly impossible to slip up, I've heard that you can use it for emergency climbing equipment (I.E. if your harness breaks)

this knot is still a bowline and will do what its supposed to do, but its the? left handed version of the bowline. the difference is, in which direction "the bunny" goes "around the tree". in the normal version of the bowline, the rope will go the other way around.
